Hi, thanks for reading another Win It Minute. Today I’m so fired up because I get to tell you how you can be a hero in life with a simple mindset change when you’re talking or dealing with other people. But first, I want to start off with a quote, “There’s nothing good or bad in this world, but thinking so makes it so.” What that simply means is every interaction you have with other people, what they say to you or what they do or the way you perceive them, that’s what makes it so. If you think what they’re saying to you is good, then it’s going to be good. If you think what they’re doing to you is good, it’s going to be good. But if you think it’s bad, if you perceive things as bad in this world, it’s going to be bad.

So simple, when you interact with people and maybe you have a disagreement or you’re dealing with your kids and you can play one of three roles, always in life. You can be the victim, the villain, or the hero. Now, think about it. If you came up with a mindset that you’re going to be the hero in every situation, whether it be a disagreement, or teaching your kids or hanging out with your kids, or dealing with your wife or your significant other or your friends, If you came in with that hero mindset that no matter what’s going to happen, you’re going to be the hero, not the victim or villain, it changes the way you interact with people.

You have to have the mindset that I get to be that hero for everybody. I get to impact other people’s lives, not I have to do that extra work project for my boss. No, I get to do that. I get to be the hero for my work partner, for my boss. So many people think, oh, I have to watch my kids, or I have to pick up my kids from school today, or I can’t watch a football game on Sunday because I have to watch my kid. No, you get to watch your kid. You get to pick them up from school. You know how many people would trade places with you in a heartbeat to have that opportunity? Or I have to go to work today. No, you get to go to work today. You know how many people would die for your job right now, just to have a job throughout the world. You know how many people would die to do anything to live in America?

We live in one of the greatest nations on earth, but yet all we do, if you watch our TV, we complain. Our Political leaders, they’re victims or villains, they’re not heroes. We don’t paint them in the media as heroes or potential heroes. We paint them as victims and they paint themselves as victims or villains. I don’t ever hear after a debate that, wow, this person’s going to be the hero, we look up to them. We want our children looking up to people, we want them to be heroes. We don’t want to tell our kids, oh, this Leader is going to be horrible because this or that, because it’s a victim or a villain mentality. No, we should be heroes and our Leaders should lead as heroes. We want them to be heroes. We get to be heroes to other people, to our kids, to our friends, to our significant others. Every single day you get that opportunity. So get out there, make it an awesome day, and realize that you get to be a hero and you get to win the day in the hero way. #Wintheday
