Wherever you are, I hope you’re making it an awesome day because no matter the absolute challenges in front of you, every day presents an opportunity for you to win the day. “Nothing is either good or bad, but thinking so makes it so.” This is one of my favorite quotes and as humans We get to realize that it’s our decisions not our conditions that determines our success in any given day. You are empowered to take control of your decisions, which ultimately leads to your success or failure. And it’s in your mindset and it’s that power of free will that the only person that can change this world is yourself. And you can be an example to other people to be that right self. And also it’s the way you can control your mindset with the way you view things.

I once read an article that said if you’re giving a speech and standing up in front of bunch of people and you start to feel nervous and you start breathing heavily, don’t try to calm yourself down because your body feels that energy. But use it in a positive way. Instead of feeling nervous and scared, remind your body that you’re excited to deliver this message, that you’re excited. Don’t try to calm your breathing down, but rather embrace it and use it for your benefit and be like, “I’m excited to deliver this message. I’m going to give a great speech,” and use enthusiasm and excitement instead of nervous energy. You are what you are and where you are because of what has gone into your mind, the way you view things. And the secret is to learn how to use that pain and pleasure.

If you’re going to go for a run or workout, do you view it as pain or pleasure? Food, when you go to eat food, is it fuel or pleasure? Are you looking for energy for the day and eating the right meal? Or are you looking for a snack to calm a need of some sort? That’s what you got to realize. We’re not driven by reality, but our perception of reality and stories are what make it so real. I’m reminded of this. As mose people I am on a text thread with a bunch of friends and we’re always texting back and forth, and sometimes when anyone tells a story of their day or a story of something that they saw, people always respond because we’re driven by emotions in our interpretation of what they’re saying. But when they just send out stats or a text message with facts or figures, we don’t really respond because that’s not what drives human emotion. Facts or figures not as so much as emotions and story.

So the story that your telling yourself is the most important part, because that’s what makes your mindset up and making that decision of it’s either good or bad and thinking so will make it so to win today.
