One of my favorite mantras is “Don’t go through life, growth through life”. In the last chapter, I talked about how we need to be thankful when difficult things come up. We will all experience trials and tribulations as we go through life, so why not grow through life as well?

After all, perseverance makes us stronger as we navigate through our challenges successfully. Walt Disney is a fantastic example of someone who went the fire before experiencing his biggest victory. We all know he is famous for creating what became perhaps the biggest entertainment empire in the world — but it almost never happened.

In fact, he was one point in his life where he faced bankruptcy and went through a deep dark depression. His first creation was a rabbit, and it was stolen from him by someone he trusted. He was on a train traveling when he just learned about this. Imagine this: Walt was prepared to sign a multi-million dollar contract and New York, only to discover that a trusted friend had destroyed his dream by stealing his creation. He was faced with the very real possibility of telling his employees that the company was bankrupt.
