“If you do what you’ve always done, you’ll get what you’ve always gotten.” — Tony Robbins. As humans, we are creatures of habit. We get into familiar routines that we believe serve us. We find ways of doing things that work well for us. However, it’s easy to get to a point where those habits put us in a rut. We begin to live life on autopilot and do these things without thinking about it anymore, and as a result, we lose our curiosity.
Sometimes, it’s necessary to change things up and explore new and better ways of accomplishing our objectives. That involves cultivating a sense of inquisitiveness. Failure to do this regularly can lead to stagnation and dullness. We don’t grow when we are in state of stagnation. Exposing our selves to different ways to doing and thinking can broaden our horizons in unimaginable ways.
I once read that 78% of people in America does not move farther than 15 miles from the houses they grew up in. That means most of America is following similar traditions and perspectives they learned from their parents, who learned from their parents, and so on.
